The JCB 3D model, known as the HMEE (High Mobility Engineer Excavator), is a display design showcasing a high-speed military engineer vehicle. The purpose of this model is to demonstrate the functionality and advanced engineering features of the excavator, which is uniquely developed to maintain convoy speeds and offer unmatched manoeuvrability. The model is presented in a 1:20 scale and serves as an exceptional, museum-quality showcase piece for trade shows and corporate displays.

The model itself is created through 3D printing, using a highly detailed CAD (Computer-Aided Design) model as a reference. The project began with a significant digital challenge: the initial 3D file provided was completely unprintable due to extensive corruption. To achieve flawless execution, the digital team at Funky Lemon repaired and restored every single armour plate and intricate hydraulic line.

To ensure the highest level of detail and absolute precision, an 8K MSLA / LCD (Masked Stereolithography) resin printer was utilized during the printing process. The resin parts were thoroughly UV-cured for maximum structural strength, resulting in a durable and visually striking presentation model.

The application of the paint finish was carried out using an airbrush after meticulous hand-masking. The paint was precisely matched to the authentic, rugged full military colours used on the real-world armoured vehicles.

For the ultimate touch of realism, we finished the heavy-duty treaded tyres with a specialized real rubber coating to give them an authentic look and tactile feel.

This exhibition model serves as a physical case study highlighting complex vehicle dynamics, suspension engineering, and structural integrity. By utilizing our state-of-the-art 8K printing capability and expert hand-finishing techniques, Funky Lemon successfully transformed broken digital data into a pristine, high-fidelity physical asset perfect for industry presentation.
